Database Architect

Workplace: Remote with occasional on-site presence in the office (Germany).

We are currently looking for a Database Architect/Consultant to support a strategic redesign of their on-premise database landscape.

The project involves a reassessment and realignment of the existing database environment with a strong focus on long-term stability and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

Designing target architectures for stable on-premise systems.
Reorganizing relational data structures of critical importance.
Ensuring operational continuity in high-risk environments.
Hardening architecture against rigorous security standards.
Eliminating vulnerabilities within the legacy database landscape.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong experience designing and redesigning database architectures for long-term use
Deep hands-on background with on-premise and legacy relational databases
(Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MariaDB)
Experience working in mission-critical environments where downtime or risk is not acceptable
A strong focus on database design, data modeling, normalization, and maintainability
Solid exposure to security and compliance requirements (e.g. GDPR, regulated environments)
